Awareness Driver Training Limited recognises its responsibility under the ratification of the KYOTO Protocol to reduce its Carbon emissions to European and U.K Government guidelines in conjunction with the Climate Change Bill 2008.
The Company recognises that in view of the nature of its business, it must set an example.
Re-Cycling and Strategic Measures:
All our employees are, and in the future will be, made aware of our waste strategy. We fully promote the re-cycling of consumables associated with this industry.
Vehicle disposable waste is dealt with responsibly with vehicle dealerships, repair workshops and fitting workshops.
All office waste is recycled where at all possible, including the method of disposal of ‘spent’ printing materials and consumables.
The organic waste produced from grounds maintenance is collected weekly by the local authority by means of subscription. One area of the site has been left ‘unkempt’ for use by natural habitat.
A water conservation policy is in force. Water is collected and stored from out buildings and used by grounds maintenance and for washing vehicles. Water saving devices are utilised throughout the building.
An energy conservation policy also exists. This ranges from low wattage light bulbs in non strategic areas through to energy efficient electrical goods.
Communications:
The Company understands that other companies seeking our services will take an interest in our products and services. To this end, a policy of alternative, more sustainable, communication is sought i.e. visual Skype, e-mail/web contact and telephone.

Student Preparation in Driver Education and Road Safety (SPIDERS).
This new 20 hour, modular, road safety course, launched in association with the Horley Young People's Centre is coming soon.
Aimed at 16 - 19 year olds who are either in the process of, or about to start training to drive or ride. The 'Pilot' course is free and will:
- Help you prepare for training BEFORE taking lessons
- Develop your knowledge of driving DURING training
- Be an invaluable inclusion to your CV AFTER your driving test.
The course includes:
- legal responsibilities of owning a vehicle (new legislation 2011)
- legal responsibilities as a licence holder
- dealing with active and passive distractions whilst driving
- planning a route and the importance of rest breaks
- what to do in the event of an accident
- how to find and identify a professional trainer
- help and advice on the preparation for the DSA theory tests.

The Romanian Aid Foundation
Some of the staff of our organisation actively volunteer their services for a particular charity called the Romanian Aid Foundation (RoAF). We help to send humanitarian aid in the form of six 38 tonne lorries every year to Dorohoi, one of the most under-developed regions of Romania. The charity sponsors a childrens playground and a humanitarian aid warehouse named 'The Centre of Hope'.
