The Course

The DIAmond Advanced courses are the highest civilian standard of driving. They incorporate the DSA marking system, but set to stricter criteria.

DIAmond Advanced Motorist is a modular based course, covering all aspects of manoeuvring. It is not just a harder version of ‘Learner Training’. This course is designed to make you plan your drive carefully, and to enhance your awareness of position, speed, and vehicle needs.

The practical examination consists of a one hour, high quality drive, without exceeding 5 minor faults.
The drive must be smooth, with no clutch drag in gear changes, or excessive listing whilst changing direction and the driver must be fully aware of all that is happening around. All mirror checks must be done before any change of speed or direction. The use of all the controls needs to be executed with the deportment of a professional driver.

The examiner is a qualified DIAmond Advanced Examiner, who holds the coveted DIAmond Special Advanced Driving Certificate, and is also a holder of the Diploma in Driving Instruction. These two specialist qualifications put them in the top league of driver education.
