At Awareness Driver Training, we strive to give professional advice, tuition and guidance to the task of learning to drive.
Learning to drive any vehicle requires the understanding that you are embarking on a ‘continual learning strategy’. It should be made very clear from the outset, that to learn to drive is not a philosophy of ‘just point the car and go!’ Why not? Simply because any vehicle on the road, if placed in the wrong hands, has the potential to be a missile!
This continual learning strategy is common to a whole host of tasks which we carry out daily, from a young child at school, right through to every day adult life. However, this strategy is also accompanied by attitude.
If you consider the building of a house, you will understand the principles of a systematic approach. The first thing the builder does, after surveying and preparing the site, is to lay the foundations whilst putting the services in to the ground. The structure is then developed in a chronological order floor by floor.
This method of building chronologically is the best preparation a novice driver can undertake in order to adopt safe driving as a life skill. A firm foundation is first required and then their skill can be further developed and expanded by revisiting the core competencies at a later stage, rather like re-assessing the size of a house, and adding an extension. This expansion of core competencies can be in the form of advanced or enhancement training, possibly due to the ever increasing change in car technology or vehicle handling techniques, or due to work or corporate pressures.
At Awareness Driver Training, we have the expertise to train from novice to advanced, for business or pleasure.
